The world is a big place.

Where do you want to go?

This is the best-kept secret in heli-skiing…

The legendary ski town of Sun Valley, Idaho is rich in ski history.  America’s first ski resort was built in 1936 near the historic mining town of Ketchum and it has been an iconic American ski resort ever since.  Generations of families and adventures have been coming here to ski for 75 years.

Sun Valley is also the birthplace of helicopter skiing in the US. Our company was the first heli-ski operation in the US, and with one of the largest permits of back-country terrain, Sun Valley has endless skiing and riding options.  While Sun Valley is known around the globe for its incredible service and family friendly community, few know about the enormity and quality of the back-country skiing in the Sawtooth, Pioneer, and Smoky Mountains – accessible right behind the resort.

Sun Valley is the perfect place for first-time heli-skiers as well as seasoned pros.  For those who don’t have the time or resources to get to Alaska this season,  Sun Valley is a great place to come with family or friends for a long weekend or a short week, with plenty of direct flights.

We cater to skiers of all abilities as well as the more advanced and experienced back-country skier. This is “small group” skiing, customized to each groups’ abilities and desires, taking advantage of fat powder skis and some of the best guides in the world to help show you how.  And at the end of the day, you return to a world-class hotel, resort, and ski town.

We specialize in designing adventures that combine resort and helicopter skiing:  Typical packages include 7 nights lodging at the legendary Sun Valley Lodge with 3 days of resort skiing and 3 days of heli-skiing.  Experienced heli-skiers know that weather can ruin a heli trip — nothing is worse than being stuck in a lodge, unable to ski. Our packages give our guests maximum flexibility and the opportunity to adjust our schedule according to the weather (when space is available.)  Either way, our guests are skiing.  It also allows our guests to spend time with friends and family who aren’t yet ready to fly in the helicopter (and we often hear heli-skiers wish they could bring family or less-advanced skiers on heli trips…)

Finally, we are proud to have the only remote heli-ski lodge in the lower 48 states.  The Smoky Mountain Lodge is a private slice of heaven for private groups of 8 guests, fully staffed with a private chef, in the middle of our remote terrain.  This is an unique opportunity for a private lodge experience — without having to travel to Canada or Alaska to get it.
